Abstract
Sclerotic fibroma is an uncommon cutaneous benign tumor usually occuring as a skin-colored or pearly papule. Histopathologically, it is characterized by a sharply circumscribed but non-encapsulated dermal nodule composed of hypocellular hyalmized bundle. The bundle are seperated by clefts and arranged in a storiform pattern. Herein, we report a case of sclerotic fibroma on the scalp in a 46-year-old man who presented a solitary, asymptomatic, 0.7 x 0.8 cm sized, firm, skin-colored, papule on the frontal scalp for 3 years. The skin lesion was compatible with histopathological finding of sclerotic fibroma. Immunohistochemically, the tumor cells were positive for vimentin, CD34 and CD99, while lacking expression of S100 and desmin. He was treated with surgical excision and shows no recurrence until now.
